“Choose me, choose me, ” says Cinderella.

I was really surprised and half-indignant when my CG members told me that Cinderella is the second least favorite Walt Disney Princess! How can it be?! I LOVEEEEE Cinderella, I think she’s the prettiest of all. The gown, people, the gown! don’t you remember the splendid blueish white gown that sparkles?

And what about her cute animal friends that helped her always?

never mind about the prince. who really remembers the prince anyway? as long as there’s a prince, we’re all happy.

but the best part about cinderella MUST be the glass slippers, although they are highly illogical to have. BUT they sparkle!

Did you know that Walt Disney’s Cinderella was actually made in 1950! so when we watched it, it must have been already 30 to 40 years old! But as a kid, I didn’t realize how dated it was, maybe because it really is a classic that never gets outdated. I watched it 2 days ago, just for old time’s sake and I still enjoyed it alot. I love the style of the whole animation, the music and the songs. It reminds me of the “Singing in the Rain” musical film genre somehow, though I am not quite sure how they relate.

ugh, whatever. I just like Cinderelle the best! (lovee it when the mice calls her that cinderelle!)

Terence dedicated this song to me at B&J (after much egging on from Adi, and after dedicating it to “my father and mother”)

He shot me a quick look during the song combined with his deep (emo) voice singing, “don’t let me go”, i almost teared.

I told him if he had looked at me longer, I would have just cried. But in his own words,

“I tried to la, but it was too weird. I think I would have laughed.”

oh well.

p/s: pardon the onslaught of boyfriend posts here. for one, i am emo and in need of love. for two, we’re 8 days to celebrating our first anniversary. i am feeling the love, i think he is just feeling erm, normal.

thank you for staying up till 3am to watch a shakespeare production and helping me with my level 4000 theatre studies presentation. goodness knows how you managed to think up of all the right answers, and bothering to type it all down when you know that i am not going to use your notes eventually. but you did it to appease your upset and stressed girlfriend.

today S asked me in your presence if you bully me. I replied that I bully you instead. but when she asked if I bully you, you replied no and that it’s always you 自找的。I found that incredibly funny, and sweet too because you never ever make me look bad in front of others.

it seems as if this year/season, i am highly susceptible to the thoughts of giving up. but You are always gracious to me, You keep telling me not to give up. truly, when we are faithless, You are still faithful.

Yes, you have suspected rightly – I am feeling kinda emo nowadays. Not because anything major has happened, perhaps just the stress. And maybe there’s something that happened one or two weeks ago that really bothered me, but because it is a sensitive issue, I can’t really talk about it and there’s really no tangible solution either. Oh well.  We go through fire, but we shall not be burned. We go through the waters but we will not be overwhelmed.

More and more I believe that we should give grace to people around us. We are all at different levels of faith, but really I believe that everyone is trying their best to love God to the best of their abilities. I am learning to give grace too.

I forgot to blog about this! But last monday I went to watch Polama Herrera dance, live!, in real person! at esplanade with jean (albeit the fact that I was at Circle 3 and peering down at the stage) I have watched her dance Don Quixote a million times on youtube and never fail to be amazed each time. And I was still amazed at her Don Quixote routine – she can pirouette and turn forever. The slight downside was that age seems to have caught up with her since the youtube recording and she doesn’t balance as well (as long). But the other pieces made up for it and the fact that I saw Paloma Herrera dance live is still ultimate coolness!

last night, i dreamed that you were back in the CG. you were just leaning against a couch, listening more than talking. i still remember being a little surprised to see you. it was as if nothing ever happened and that you never left.

then i woke up to reality.

This is one of the church BV’s kid. he has inherited good genes – musicality! i really think it is not that easy to sing Fancy Free when you’re five! still must dance leh.

To terence: sons are very cute too!

Terence has this odd habit of repeating to me that daughters are very cute. (He is of course thinking of Poh’s daughter who can rock it) One day, I couldn’t take it anymore, i told them, “I am not Attributes, i don’t provide pre-order service.” Haven’t marry me, already want to ‘order’ the kids with me. No deal!

I loved the fireworks display at Disneyland. This is my fav video out of those that I took because Disney is not the same without all the memorable tunes (: So bear with the shakiness and amateurish video-ing skills, and enjoy the magic!

it has been a two weeks hiatus here. so hello again blog world.

since then to now has been more birthday presents (yay!), 2 presentations, one week of morning PM and many good words from God! (:

i’ve been stalking sophie’s friend on her blog. okay, not really stalking. i mean i know sophie right? and her friend dates my senior. so technically, not really stalking.

anyway, her blog’s really entertaining and she writes so quintessentially (and not mushy) posts about her boyfriend. everything just seems so pretty. i think i can never manage that. perhaps england has air better suited for romances. the humidity in singapore kills everything. yes, i am blaming the weather.

anyhow, i just want to blog these funny incidents with the boyfriend before i forget them, and because i am inspired!

incident one:

(a conversation)

me: darling… (about to launch into yet another incident of the day)

boyfriend: i can’t talk anymore, i used up my word quota for the day

me: but i haven’t used up mine!

boyfriend: ohh.. but my quota for listening has been used up!

BUT, i still got my story out and he still listened. (:

incident two:

I was really really really angry with him for something on sunday morning. really. although i forgave him over service, i decided to put on my meanest glare when i saw him in a distance as i was walking out of the hall. well, my dear CG members were walking in front of me and walked pass him one by one before me. and my boyfriend proceeded to say hi to each of them, individually. and when it came to me, he gave a blank, nonchalant (retarded) expression which made me burst out laughing. me, “i want to stay angry with you but i can’t because of your stupidest face that makes me laugh.” i think that is really God’s gift to him. even daryl agrees that he is smart. and to all my friends who said hi to him before me, you were merely his pawns to make me happy with him again! oh well, it does help if your cgl stays happy right?

3 weeks and a day more to our first anniversary and it falls auspiciously on the final day of the semester, which is technically also Day 0 of study week. time flies (: and terence thinks: so has all his money in this past 12 months! heeee

it’s my burf-day todayyy! so i decided to wear a “have a smurf day” shirt.

anyway.. on my birthday, i have a 3 hours class on virginia woolf, another 3 hours class on modernism.. nope, i didn’t get an epiphany in the middle of these classes on what it really means to be alive. In the end, what has pleased me so far today is that Terence came to NUS randomly to surprise me with my gift! 5 min before my class started, i received a phone call from him telling me to go to the central library and my classmates saw me walking away from the seminar room

friends: not going class today ah?

me: going, but my boyfriend is suddenly in school. don’t know what he wants.

and 5 minutes later, I reappeared back in class with a Coach paperbag.

friend 1: wah, he came to surprise you with a little something huh?

friend 2: but the “little something” is Coach.

hehe (: no epiphany involved, what makes a girl happy is Coach! I am all for materialism.

anyway, i am currently overwhelmed by all the FB msg, smses, twitter greetings! thank you so so much & i can’t even keep track of who i replied, and who i haven’t. but as a way of expressing my heart-felt thanks, i shall reveal some secrets here!

I posted this last year a week after my birthday. spot the insidiously placed pictures with the obscure caption “nasi padang outing on thu” that was my very first date with terence! hehe, so yes, one day after my 21st, I went on a date with Terence. Was obviously very pleased with the date..so much so that i posted up pictures of it at the risk of being asked questions. ha! I am so good at keeping (my own) secrets!
